Lyrical quartet Spindle Ensemble performs at The Old Barn on Kelston Roundhill on Saturday, 15th July, with doors opening at 6.30 pm.
Featuring Harriet Riley on marimba - vibraphone, Caelia Lunniss on violin, Jo Silverston on cello and occasional musical saw and Daniel Inzani on keyboards, the group plays original, modern semi-classical compositions of filmic breadth and aural beauty.
Fiona Talkington, one of the three graces of BBC Radio 3’s flagship programme Late Junction, observed: “Beautiful sounds, definitely a band to watch.”
While Stage Talk Magazine says: “(The musicians) crafted beautifully layered landscapes of sound with enormous empathy for each other’s playing.”
The venue is a restored Victorian threshing barn accessed by a farm track that winds most of the way up the local landmark, Kelston Roundhill. Standing alone in fields grazed by a dairy herd, the barn commands far reaching views across the Avon valley towards Bristol and the last folds of the Cotswolds.
There's parking on site, a cash bar and food will be available.
