Hypnotise a Fly, Amy Wilock

An example of Harriet's love for new composer's work and chamber contemporary ensembles. Heard here with Sam Jowett performing a fellow student's composition, the duet features toms-toms and woodblocks to create multi-percussion set ups which interlock rhythmically throughout.

Spindle ensemble

Spindle ensemble is an experimental quartet from Bristol music collective 'Bloom'. They perform original compositions by Daniel Inzani somewhere between the jazz, folk and classical idioms.

Octabones with Sam Jowett

Another duet with fellow RWCMD graduate Sam Jowett performing Percadu's feindish marimba duet "Octabones". Based around an Octatonic scale, this piece uses many extendedtechniques and each player using both marimbas to create one of the most difficult pieces in the percussion duo repertoire.

NEW MUSIC IN THE SOUTH WEST with the Bristol Ensemble

In Shatter, composer Andy Keenan uses a minimalist style with a prominent marimba part. The Bristol Ensemble work with New Music in the South West where the concert features a plethora of tuned percussion, as you can see from the video. The piece's title is so-called because of the way that every part emanates from a single melodic idea as if it had been dropped and shattered into many pieces.

New Music in the South West

Geoffe Poole's "Fibonacci Fizz" in a new arrangement for New Music in the South West (NMSW). It was a piece originally written for 2 pianos.

Performed by Harriet Riley (marimba) and Paul Israel (piano) at Chapel Arts, Bath on 6th March 2016. This is piece features rhythmic overlaying with the marimba starting in 13/8 and the piano in 4/8.
