Suede with Paraorchestra at The Southbank

  • Queen Elizabeth Hall, Southbank (map)

Credited with paving the way for the Britpop movement of the mid-90s, Suede’s unique blend of glam and alternative rock has had an enduring influence on the UK’s music scene.

The band’s hugely successful back catalogue includes its 1993 debut, Suede, which defined the sound of an era and won the Mercury Prize; and its paradigm-shifting follow-up, Dog Man Star. Following a hiatus, they returned to build on their legacy with albums including 2022’s widely acclaimed Autofiction.

The band is formed of singer Brett Anderson, bassist Mat Osman, drummer Simon Gilbert, guitarist Richard Oakes and keyboard player Neil Codling.

Brett Anderson has previously collaborated with Paraorchestra and Hazlewood on Death Songbook, a project reimagining cult classics on the themes of love, death and loss, that was conceived during the pandemic and released as an album in 2024.

Paraorchestra is a collective of disabled and non-disabled musicians: a platform that pushes the boundaries of music-making to create art with passion and purpose.
