Spindle Ensemble at Rockhampton Winter Festival

  • Rockhampton Village Hall (map)

Come and join us for this great gig with Spindle Ensemble in Rockhampton Village Hall.  It's the first in our new winter series of events.

This fascinating and youthful quartet are; Daniel Inzani (folk harp, accordion and keyboard), Caelia Lunniss (violin),
Harriet Riley (marimba and vibraphone ) and Jo Silverston (cello) . They perform original compositions by Daniel that hover somewhere between jazz, folk and classical idioms, taking inspiration from artists such as Moondog, Eric Satie and Mulatu Astatke.

Making a difference

The Spindle Ensemble will also be touring care homes and special schools in the area courtesy of the Live Music Now scheme and the proceeds from Rockhampton Folk Festival - so a big thank you to all those of you who had a drink in at last summer's festival - the proceeds are going directly back to the community!

Making a difference to the local community is at the heart of what the Rockhampton Folk Festival is about.  Knowing that some groups in our community rarely have the opportunity to engage with live performance, we bring festival music to them instead.  Find out more about out outreach work
