What do you get when you bring together the dopest Bristol beat maker, a keyboard maestro and a jazz sax virtuoso ....... a journey through hip hop to jazz, straight to the belly of the funk. The Phantom Ensemble was started by Bristol producer Toby Simiah and it was his need to play live that led him to reach out to sax hero Craig Crofton and harmonic master Dan Somers, to start a new forward thinking project fusing organic hiphop breaks with chilled jazz flows. 2018 has seen this super cool collab signing their first record deal with Kingunderground records, a well known underground U.K. hip hop label, with the highly anticipated release expected on vinyl and digital in the autumn. By the time the band’s debut album was mixed and mastered they were already working on their second album and adding new material at their live shows.
